IBM-a i Nvidia grade najbrža superračunala

Američko ministarstvo energetike (DOE) dodijelilo je sredstava u vrijednosti od 325 milijuna $ tvrtkama IBM, Nvidia i Mellanox. Zadatak tih tvrtki je iskoristiti dobivena sredstva kako bi izgradili najbrže superračunalo na svijetu do 2017. godine. U sklopu projekta bit će izrađena dva superračunala. Summit će biti smješten u nacionalnom laboratoriju Oak Ridge u Tennesseeu, dok će se Sierra smjestiti u nacionalnom laboratoriju Lawrence Livermore u Kaliforniji.
